Knights of Virtue
Duty first. Self second. That is the path you have chosen to take. You are going down a road for which your very life may be sacrificed for the Holy Mother Church. You do not hesitate in accepting this as your fate because nothing is more important than your faith and protecting peace and goodness in the world.
You have made an art out of combining your undying devotion to the Light and protecting those cannot protect themselves. This immense power and what you choose to do with it shall be your ultimate test. Will you let your pride blind your reason and become another hate-wielding zealot? Or will you transcend this power and use it as a tool to do good? This question still lingers among those who have chosen your path.
Only through your protection may the faithful live in peace. Take up your sword and shield, Brother. You are now one of the...
"I've been sworn in... What do I do now?"
Welcome to the Clergy of the Holy Light, known in-character as The College of Canons! We welcome you into our ecclesiastical order and look forward to getting to know you and your character! Please read our Guidelines and Expectations to best prepare yourself of what is to be expected of you. Are you ready to get started?
We ask that you adhere to the following dress code rules for your time spent as an aspirant knight. The uniform is meant to be simple in nature for aspirants, but not a permanent set.
This set is meant to be a base set for beginning aspirant Knights of Virtue, and as you progress through the ranks, you will be given options to choose as far as upgrades to certain pieces. However, this starter set is fairly accessible.
Chestpiece: Platemail Armor: This armor piece can be purchased from Agustus Moulaine in Stormwind.
Leggings: Platemail Leggings: This armor piece can be purchased from Agustus Moulaine in Stormwind.
Bracers: Platemail Bracers: This armor piece can be purchased from Agustus Moulaine in Stormwind.
Boots: Platemail Boots: This armor piece can be purchased from Agustus Moulaine in Stormwind.
Gloves: Platemail Gloves: This armor piece can be purchased from Agustus Moulaine in Stormwind.
Belt: Augmented Chain Belt: This armor piece can be purchased from Agustus Moulaine in Stormwind.
Cloak: Icy Cloak: This is a fairly simple white cloak to either purchase or find a similar model of. Please check with an officer to get one from the guild bank for you, should you require it.
Shoulders: Golden Scale Shoulders: These shoulders are NOT very easy to come by or are they very cheap on AH, -however- we have crafted many and placed them in the guild bank, so please ask an officer to give you a pair.
Tabard: Guild Tabard: This is pretty self explanatory. We have many starter guild tabards in our guild bank, so please ask an officer to get you one. You may also use any of the upgraded guild tabards bought from Shay Pressler in Stormwind.
Shirt: A shirt isn't required, but if you would like your character to wear a shirt, any of the upgraded guild shirts, such as Initiates Shirt may be worn and can be purchased from Shay Pressler in Stormwind.
Helm: A headpiece isn't required by aspiring knights, but if you would like your character to wear something, you can elect to wear Aurora Cowl.
You do have a few different options here as far as what weapons you would like your character to equip. Like with the uniform, this is meant to be a base model. As your character progresses and moves through the ranks, you will be able to expand upon your options.
Sword & Shield: Copper Shortsword and Burnished Shield: The sword is a starter level crafted blacksmithing sword, which is very easy to buy/find. The shield is a little more difficult to come by, seeing that it's a drop item, so you may use other similar shields, as long as they have the same gold finish.
Two-Handed Sword: Moonsteel Broadsword: This two-handed sword has become incredibly easy to find, seeing that similar models can be found in a lot of different places, including heirloom item Reforged Truesilver Champion.
Two-Handed Mace: Enchanted Battlehammer: This two-handed mace is a little more difficult to come by than the two-handed sword, but it is still approved as a starter weapon for your aspiring knight, should you have it laying around in your bank.
Weapon Enchants? Yes, however, we really only want to see Crusader Enchant upon our aspiring knight's weapons, or should you have a garrison, you may use the Enchanter's Illusion - Crusader on your weapon.
"Okay. I'm all geared up and looking shiny. What do I do now?"
You are going to report to your Commanding Officer, who will be assigned to you when you are inducted into the College. Another Knight of Virtue may decide to take you on as a squire, which would make them your new Commanding Officer.
You will be expected to attend seminary with your fellow aspiring priests. Remember, you are a cleric just as your cloth-wearing brethren. Wearing plate armor doesn't mean you get to skip school and play sports all day. PLEASE view the guild calendar regularly for all guild events and other scheduled meetings. When you have downtime, you will be expected to spend time within the Cathedral of Light in Stormwind, which is the center of operations for the College of Canons.
As a aspiring knight, you have much more freedom that the Noble Guard, so you're not required to silently stand guard within the Cathedral, but you may want to stay within the vicinity.
We look forward to seeing you progress through your career as a Knight of Virtue.
